Oklahoma City, OK - The Oklahoma Main Street program is encouraging Main Street Communities to list any vacant properties that are available on LocateOK. LocateOK is an online database of Oklahoma buildings and sites that are for sale or lease managed by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
Visitors to LocateOK can search communities for available properties by square footage, use, cost, and available infrastructure, as well as acreage sites. An added feature is the Community Profiles which include demographic, labor force and consumer spending information by city or town. There are over 500 available properties currently on the website.
"Revitalizing downtown and business districts are at the core of the mission of the Oklahoma Main Street Program," said Linda Barnett, director of Oklahoma Main Street. "By providing information on the available retail and consumer spending information, this gives Main Street communities an advantage as they seek to bring businesses into their towns and enhance the quality of life of their citizens."
Oklahoma's Main Street program pumps new life back into the heart of communities across the state by combining historic preservation and downtown revitalization efforts. By listing properties on LocateOK, Main Street communities are sharing their available sites and properties with those who are looking to locate or expand their business.
A Main Street community can post their information by visiting www.okcommerce.gov/main-street and then click on Main Street Property Listings. Jeremy Zeller, Oklahoma Main Street Economic Developer can assist with the process. Jeremy" contact information is (405) 815-5186 by e-mail at jeremy_zeller@OKCommerce.gov.
