Taylor Forge constructs new Tulsa facility, plans workforce expansion
Taylor Forge Engineered Systems is marking its expansion in the Gas Processing and Heat Transfer business with construction of a new manufacturing center in Tulsa. The company plans to expand its workforce as part of its strategy for continued growth.
Taylor Forge is in the process of applying for the State of Oklahoma's Quality Jobs incentive, and plans to add as many as 100 employees at its new facility.
The 53,000 S.F. manufacturing center, to be constructed at Cherokee Industrial Park in north Tulsa, will focus on process and heat transfer packages. Operations at the facility will include complete In-House Process & Mechanical Design and Fabrication of skid mounted Gas Processing Packages, along with Thermal Design, Mechanical Design and Fabrication of Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers.
Tony Osborn, VP and GM for TFES's new Tulsa facility said, "As a recognized leader in slug catchers, process separation, pressure vessels, extruded headers, and traps, returning to the design and manufacturing of gas processing and heat transfer components is a logical step in our support of the natural gas processing and petrochemical industries."
Mike Kilkenny, CEO of Taylor Forge said, "The investment in this new facility and these two product lines is not only a complement to our existing lines but another reflection of how we add value to the complicated process and high pressure applications throughout the energy market. Our heat transfer and gas processing products will be produced to the same high quality Taylor Forge standards our customers have come to know and expect."
The new facility is scheduled to be fully operational by September 2013.
Tulsa-region business leaders and elected officials congratulated the company on its continued success and on its plans for future growth.
"Our region's thriving manufacturing sector continues to grow, and we are very pleased to welcome industry leader Taylor Forge to northeast Oklahoma," said Tulsa Regional Chamber President and CEO Mike Neal. "Taylor Forge will be an excellent addition to the Tulsa region business community, and we look forward to a continued partnership with this outstanding company."
Tulsa Mayor Dewey F. Bartlett, Jr., also offered Taylor Forge congratulations on its success.
"The announcement that Taylor Forge is investing in long-term growth in Tulsa is tremendous news for our city and for our area. We congratulate this top tier company, and as our track record clearly illustrates, we will continue to focus on bringing high-quality jobs and investment to our community."
State officials said they continue to target the sort of job creation Taylor Forge is planning and look forward to working with the company as it continues to grow.
"The jobs that Taylor Forge will bring to the state are the types of engineering and manufacturing jobs that we are targeting under Governor Fallin's direction," said Jonna Kirschner, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. "Oklahoma is a great place to locate or expand a business, and we look forward to working with Taylor Forge as they expand their presence into the State."
