Last week our agency participated in GIS Day at the Capitol. Geographic Information Services (GIS) are technologies that display data and information using maps. Commerce has a number of mapping services available to the public for free.
Each year, GIS Day at the Capitol gives us an opportunity to show off these resources and visit with the public, elected officials and other agencies.
Our maps have a number of business, government and community development applications.
Some of our map tools include:
LocateOK.com – an interactive map of commercial buildings and sites available for sale or lease with information on workforce, demographics and infrastructure.
Site Ready Certified Sites Map – Oklahoma’s Site Ready certified sites are guaranteed to be ready for construction and free of regulatory landmines.
Regional Team Map – Find the Commerce regional expert who serves your part of Oklahoma for help with business issues and community development.
Opportunity Zones, Enterprise Zones and 5% Areas – See if your business or community lies in a zone with special tax incentive qualifications.
Our booth was staffed by our GIS expert Mike Sexton and researcher Scott Mauldin. Also attending were researcher Lesli Crofford and Jeremy Zeller of the Oklahoma Main Street Center.
