The Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) is a great source for detailed population and household characteristics, giving estimates and margins of error for many aspects of the American population. However, sometimes users must blend ACS results in order to arrive at the exact measure needed – hard to do correctly if users are not familiar with statistics. To help, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce created the ACS Calculator to assist with applications of ACS data.
This Excel based file contains several calculators that let users enter official ACS results from the Census Bureau and come away with approximations of the true measure needed.
Visit the American Community Survey page on Census.gov to find social, economic, housing, and demographic data from the survey. Look for the "Current Data Profiles" tool in the right sidebar. Select a state, hit the Go button, and then choose dataset you are looking for.
