The Oklahoma Department of Commerce and Oklahoma ACES team will be at the capitol on March 19 for Aviation and Aerospace Day at the Capitol. As Oklahoma’s second largest economic engine, aviation has a significant impact on the lives of our citizens. Aviation and aerospace industry officials and workforce, military, pilots, aircraft owners, educators, students, and the public should make plans to attend.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity to talk with more people about the Oklahoma ACES program and how we’re developing a statewide strategy to grow aerospace in our state,” said Vince Howie, Director of Aerospace and Defense, Oklahoma Department of Commerce. “By working together with people from all aspects of the industry, we can expand our efforts and bring more aerospace jobs and talent to Oklahoma.”
Major aerospace companies exhibitors will include AAR Corp, Aircraft Structures International Corporation, American Airlines, BizJet International, Boeing, Cherokee Nation Aerospace and Defense, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Command Technology Inc., Consolidated Turbine Specialists, LLC, FAA Monroney Center, Field Aerospace, FlightSafety, National Business Aviation Assn., NORDAM, Northrop Grumman, Oklahoma National Air Guard, Pratt & Whitney, Tinker AFB, Tomcat Aviation LLC, Valair Aviation, Vance Air Force Base, and Vertical Aerospace.
As part of “AERO Oklahoma” Aviation & Aerospace Day, the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission has partnered with Oklahoma CareerTech and Oklahoma ACES to host a career fair specifically for the aviation and aerospace industry. The career fair will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oklahoma State Capitol, Second and Fourth Floor Rotundas.
Community partners assisting the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission and the Oklahoma Air Force Association in the coordination of the event were Acorn Growth Companies, AERO Caucus of the 57thLegislature, American Airlines, AOPA, CareerTech, CEC, Delta Airports, INTRUST Bank, KSA, NBAA, OAOA, OBAN, ODOT, Olsson, Stillwater Airport, Vertical Aerospace, Jones PR, Oklahoma ACES, AAR, Embry Riddle, and the American Concrete Pavers Association.
Registration for the public is free through Eventbrite. Attendees may purchase a $10 lunch ticket separate from their free registration, but lunch is not required to attend the event. Overflow parking may be accessed in the east parking lot across from the Capitol as well as in the ODOT visitor parking area. Due to limited parking spaces at the Capitol, carpooling is strongly encouraged.
