The Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Community Development team (Commerce) announced that the Johnston County is the recipient of a Community Development Block Grant – Economic Development Infrastructure Financing (CDBG-EDIF) award totaling $1,000,000.
The award will be used for the construction of a publicly owned building to support the expansion of Nitro-Lift Fabrication, LLC. This award allocation will help support Oklahoma’s continuing commitment to job creation and diversification of Oklahoma’s economic base. Commerce manages the federally funded CDBG-EDIF program in the State. Additional funding for the project will be provided by the company.
The CDBG-EDIF program helps eligible cities, towns, and counties with the financing of infrastructure improvements for new companies or industries locating to Oklahoma or expanding Oklahoma businesses. The purpose of the program is to stimulate long-term job creation and investment.
Nitro-Lift Fabrication, established in 2013 as an outgrowth of fabricating their own Nitrogen (established in 2006) and Well Testing Equipment (established in 2010) businesses. Nitro-Lift Fabrication, LLC is a metal fabrication shop, a producer of custom, project focused, design process pipes and pressure vessels and are expanding to meet the needs of their customer’s demands and the increase in pipeline infrastructure demands.
Johnston County is requesting $1,000,000 in CDBG-EDIF funds for the construction of a 12,000 square foot facility. The company is investing $1,015,140 in professional fees, company equipment and installation, company vehicles, software, hardware, and an overhead crane. The construction of a new building will allow the company to expand their production lines and enable the company to hire 30 new permanent full-time employees with 16 of those jobs being made available to low and moderate income persons.
